Postpartum Pelvic Floor

During pregnancy, the uterus and your precious cargo are growing for over 30 weeks! This increased weight and pressure on the pelvic floor and surrounding ligaments can cause weakness and stretch injuries. During delivery of your special babe, it is very common for muscle tears to occur. With a C-section, the lower abdominal wall is cut in order to deliver your babe into this world. You are one special woman! That is a lot for one Momma to handle.

Pelvic floor physical therapy gives you the space and time to confide in your therapist. Together, we will develop the proper postpartum program for you. This will 100% NOT be for you to go home and do 100 sit-ups everyday. Your body has been through an amazing transformation. Give yourself time to heal. Then, when you are ready, it is time to reconnect with your pelvic floor and core muscles in order to perform proper engagement when lifting your new bundle of joy. This takes time. Go gentle on yourself and reach out for support. I am here to answer any questions or feel free to scheduel a consult just to talk to someone about what you went through with your birth experience, and get some pointers for pelvic floor healing. We all heal and grow in our own time. 🧡
